A head full of biscuits

Winter demands knitwear. And while there’s heat around off-white aran knits for the season, this muddle of navy, grey and gold by Monsieur Lacenaire caught my eye. It’s all about the jutty block of gold at the bottom for me: like a vindictive Lego set. I think it intrudes on the expected brilliantly. I would quite specifically wear this with some befuddled denim trousers, a pair of thick soled Yuketens and an introspective disposition that suggests I’m weighing up the relative merits of a Ritter Sport Hazelnut over a Ritter Sport Butter Biscuit. I’m deep like that.

The Monsieur Lacenaire range is designed by Garance Broca, who’s ex of Balmain, Kenzo and Hermès. It certainly shows. 100% merino, made in Portugal, flecked detail on the grey portion – this is one handsome piece of knitwearsmanship.

If you’ve got 300 Europeans burning a hole, you might want to have a slice of this for the chillier months. I can’t believe I’ve just got back from Paris and I didn’t look this place up while I was there. Dunno what I was thinking? Probably just had a head full of fucking biscuits as usual.
