Pre-sales, 30% offs and full on sale SALES. It’s the fucking sales bruh. Thems happening now. So get involved and if you’re gonna get involved, get involved at The Bureau. There’s piles of EG, Needles, orSlow, Kaptial, Rough & Tumble and Nanamica going cheap (er) and if I hadn’t just dropped on an EG gilet from the Liberty sale, I’d be joining you. But remember, it’s also a time for caution. Just because it’s cheap, don’t make it good. Keep it classic (ish) if you can, to guarantee prolonged enjoyment. And in that spirit, here’s three classic (ish) jackets I’d have a slice of right now. Cards at the ready…
Needles, indigo zig–zag stitch chore coat: I all sorts of want this. At time of writing they’ve got a medium left. It’s the indigo cotton/linen mix that does it. That flecky, speckledy finish to the cloth really advertises your denimist credentials.
Engineered Garments, olive nyco poplin CPO shirt jacket: I was checking this just yesterday in Oi Polloi London. It’s a heavy-ish fabric, so it really would function as a light jacket, or I guess just as a shirt in the colder months. Aside from all the frontage detail, there’s a pocket on the back of this thing, which makes it good. It just does alright.
Post Overalls, blue ivy vintage calico OK40 jacket: If you haven’t got a patterned jacket/blazer thing in your arsenal, this will do a fine job. Personally, I could do without the brand badge up front, but it’s overlookable for a 60 quid saving.
So, if you’ve got the feels, get over to The Bureau now and hoover this shit up. But there is an alternative. I will be checking back, every day from now on. Waiting, just waiting, until the prices drop again. Now of course the stuff I want may well sell out. But thems the chances you take when you’re man enough to play sale time menswear roulette.
