Sometimes it’s tough being a steezmonger. Single mums, ethnic minorities and the poor are very successful in accessing the nation’s reserves of sympathy. I just think we should occasionally spare a thought for the wardrobely challenged. Bros too shy to speak out and who sadly, often live for years in uncertainty and shame. Unsure about going sock-less in brogues. Worried about throwing away an expensive blazer that’s gone a bit shiny. Confused as to whether anything Urban Outfitters sell could ever be considered cool? The horror stories can be difficult to hear.
My personal pain, comes from my peers’ seemingly limitless ‘observations’ about my current penchant for bucket hats. Well fuck y’all. I like ’em and I’m wearing them. And no doubt in a season or two, so will all the haters. By way of rebuttal, I offer this gallery of bros from magnificent Japanese e-tailer Go Out. Their collection of headwear is astonishing, brave and downright weird. And I have the greatest respect for the dudes pictured. They clearly don’t give a fancy pair of tits what anyone thinks.
Look at those dudes. Confidence and happiness exude from every lightly bearded pore. Not one of them displays anything but complete belief and unshakable trust in his millinery choice. Cynics among you may point out that these guys are models and as such, are paid to look questionable. But, I have a simple response to that. Which I will let you know. Just as soon as I’ve thought of it.
